Project report: netvico provides a »guiding light« at BASF’s recreation center

The BASF recreation center »Feierabendhaus« in Ludwigshafen is the only conference and communication center of its kind in Germany. After being completely renovated, a digital visitor guidance system developed by netvico was installed that offers guests the necessary assistance when it comes to finding their way to the great many locations and events at the center.

The BASF recreation center combines conference rooms, chamber concert halls and ballrooms for up to 1,300 guests under one roof. Its gastronomy is also very creative, from a canteen to an à la carte restaurant, serving both regional and international cuisine. A conservatory and large park add a particular flair to the atmosphere. The design specification for the concept developed by netvico in association with the Stuttgart architect firm Fiedler-Aichele was therefore to harmonize the requirements of a digital information system with the »feel-good atmosphere« of the center and the corporate design of the company.
Guests are guided by netvico display screens at every step throughout the building. As soon as they enter the foyer, guests are greeted by several monitors guiding them to various event locations. A number of guidance screens are installed in the stairwells and on the upper floor, and others can be used by visitors to find out about the culinary delights on offer at the center’s restaurants that day. A special casing has been developed to allow the display screens to be embedded in the walls and thus blend unobtrusively but visibly into the architectonic surroundings. As is the case with all netvico systems, the display screens are controlled centrally via our tried-and-tested and multi-award-winning »PlayEverywhere« technology.
