Contemporary Art Ruhr: art fair looks into netvico’s LED eyesSix of netvico’s LED eyes have been successfully transforming photos taken by artist Angelika Grossmann into a world of illuminated images. The exhibition can be seen again in October 2011 at Contemporary Art Ruhr in Essen.Modular, bright and energy-efficient are the best words to sum up this netvico product. As the photo designer Angelika Grossmann discovered when she used the LED eyes for her project entitled “one room – different lives”, the illuminated images are lent additional radiance and the resulting visual effect is very beneficial. Her collection of photos is a uniquely orchestrated and vividly colourful series of stories taken from life. To shoot the collection, Grossmann rented a small turn-of-the-century apartment, where she skilfully combined interior features and actors to create the respective scenes. She chose the six LED eyes because she wanted to convey the sensory feeling of the room without leaving the medium of photography. The flexible information medium also enabled the photo designer to change her slides quickly and effortlessly so as to surprise visitors with new images whenever she wanted. Besides flexibility, the benefits of the LED eyes include minimal installation depth, cost efficiency and eco-friendliness. As part of Contemporary Art Ruhr, the Innovative Art Fair will open its doors from 28th to 30th October 2001 in the Zollverein (Visitor Portal) World Heritage Site in Essen. Earlier in June, “one room – different lives“ was also on display at the Zollverein as part of the Media Trade Fair. For both exhibitions, Angelika Grossmann has been awarded the C.A.R. (Contemporary Art Ruhr) talent prize. netvico extends its congratulations and is pleased to have been able to work together with her.
