Press release Stuttgart, July 2007
LED floor as well receives red dot award
netvico has designed another innovative digital presentation medium for the Peek & Cloppenburg company - appropriate for the aesthetic demands of the company. netvico has developed the LED floor, a marketing instrument that does away with the familiar method of working with digital pictures.
Department store customers are invited to actually »step onto« a supposedly immaterial, acoustic-visual medium.
This adds a haptic dimension to the traditional repertoire of digital media in terms of emotionalizing response instruments.
The walkable LED floor stands out by virtue of its impressive performance data: The construction height is 60 mm, the maximum load bearing capacity 1000 kg/m2, and the 50 mm bitmap ensures a homogenous image even at a considerable distance.
The LED floor viewed through the escalator well of the Peek & Cloppenburg Weltstadthaus department store in Mannheim, Germany celebrated its premier just a couple of months ago and has become a real eyecatcher for the store’s visitors. Walking on the floor, one is inescapably drawn into the hypnotic-suggestive spell conjured by the LEDs, whether viewed close up or from one of the upper floors.
