Employee information system at Bosch Thermotechnik

Digital networking continues to increase in numerous companies. And not only in development, production or logistics, but also in visitor and employee information. The big advantage: digital information systems are versatile and offer advantages in terms of being up-to-date and handling. Since 2012, netvico digital signage solutions have been informing visitors and employees at Bosch Thermotechnology. Since the initial introduction, the media previously used, such as the analogue bulletin board, information sheets or classic display boards have been gradually replaced. So now in the staff restaurant and in the Junkers-Bosch training center. With the expansion of the digital systems in October 2015, the information should become digital and therefore more modern. In the project, netvico took on the entire value chain, from conception and advice to design and technical implementation.

 

Problem-free expansion of the information system

The term "digital signage" or "digital signage" describes the entire field around the use of digital media content in advertising and information systems. Back in 2012, Bosch Thermotechnology decided to use this technology to change and reorganize its communication structure. It all started with digital steles, which provide information for the more than 2.000 external visitors who are guided through the plant, as well as internal information for employees. For this purpose, three digital steles with 55 "touch monitors and four steles with 46" touch monitors were attached to prominent locations on the factory premises. Since then, groups of visitors have been welcomed individually, they can orientate themselves on a map of the plant and they are guided through the plant via the digital plant tour. Employees can also use the displays to find out about news from the intranet and fixed dates, such as upcoming works meetings. Since October 2015, following the further development of this system, the daily changing dishes, including descriptions and images, can also be read in the staff restaurant on four 42 '' displays. In addition, visitors to the Junkers-Bosch training center in the Bosch Thermotechnik Forum are greeted on two displays and informed about the dates and room allocation for the practical training.

 

Plannability and programmability of individual content

At Bosch Thermotechnik, the digital signage software "PlayEverywhere" from netvico controls and manages the presentation of the multimedia content on all digital media systems. It can be easily implemented in existing communication structures and is responsible for ensuring that all parts interact smoothly and that a perfect whole is created. With the simplest usability within the content management system, digital content can be centrally managed, monitored and updated. Playlists determine which content is played on which displays - and precisely at the right time. The content is distributed in a target group-oriented manner - that is, “external” and “internal” information can still be separated. Additional information or changes to the menu can be quickly imported into the staff restaurant itself. An individual greeting can also be displayed digitally for visitors to the training center quickly and easily.

 

Further cooperation planned

Based on the experience from previous projects, the joint planning and implementation of the employee information project went smoothly. According to netvico, it is important to always find the right contact person in a group. It is immensely important that the IT employees are picked up correctly, because the whole project stands or falls with their willingness to cooperate. netvico is able to always adapt individually to the customers. The project managers worked closely with the Bosch construction department on the necessary modifications. Bosch is completely satisfied with the solution that has been implemented. “We want to fascinate our customers with our products and services and make a visit to our Bosch Thermotechnology Forum in Wernau an unforgettable experience. It is just as important to live our claim as a technology leader internally with our employees in terms of the type, topicality and attractiveness of the information. netvico and its system solutions are an important part of this ”, says plant and site manager Armin Schwab. The information system in the staff restaurant and in the Junkers-Bosch training center is very well received, just as it was in the factory and in the visitor area itself. In addition, based on the positive feedback and the good advice and service provided by netvico, Bosch has now decided to introduce such an information system at the Feuerbach location.
