The glass cube of the Stuttgart Art Museum contrasts with the historical buildings around the Schlossplatz. Its eye-catching effect is now reinforced by two 3 x 2 meter LED cubes with a pixel pitch of six millimeters on which the video work “Becoming” (9) by Candice Breitz will be shown from April 28 to August 2016, 2003. From their position on the third floor of the museum, the powerful LED cubes carry the artist's messages far across Stuttgart's Schlossplatz. The left cube shows a sequence from a Hollywood film, while the imitation of Candice Breitz is shown on the right cube. The artist slips into the roles of female characters from romantic comedies by imitating the facial expressions and gestures of well-known actresses. The two LED cubes in the art museum show different video sequences that are nevertheless precisely coordinated with one another.

Strong lighting effect of the LEDs in the twilight

At the art museum, the strong lighting effect of the large-format LED cubes is particularly evident at dusk. That was also the museum's plan: "When people romp around on Stuttgart's Schlossplatz in the evening in the summer months, the artist's video work unfolds its full effect," says Isabel Kucher, Head of Communication and Marketing at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart.

Control media content flexibly and independently of location

With the software "PlayEverywhere" the content of the digital signage systems can be managed and controlled from any location. Playlists determine which content is played on which LED cube - and precisely at the time. The sequences start automatically shortly before the exhibition opens in the morning and only turn off again late at night. A preset loop in the “PlayEverywhere” editorial system from netvico ensures that the film sequences run in the desired order and that the playlist is repeated automatically.
